Police arrested an Ocean View man and woman in connection with residential burglary.

On Tuesday, officers arrested 31-year-old Mario Espino and 26-year-old Jayleen Kahele following a reported burglary in the 92-1400 block of Aloha Boulevard in Ocean View. Police were able to identify Espino after reviewing video surveillance footage and determined Espino was assisted by Kahele.

Both were taken into custody at a nearby residence on Hula Lane.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the Hula Lane residence and recovered the items stolen during the burglary.

On Thursday, detectives charged Espino with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft and habitual property crime. His bail has been set at $7,250 and his initial appearance is scheduled for Friday in Kona District Court.

Kahele was released pending further investigation.
